It is one of the many new shops and businesses that are helping to grow and cultivate the community in the Carolina Forest area of Myrtle Beach. Computers and Such is one of the only Carolina Forest repair and service shops to remain in business during these hard economic times; unfortunately the competition was not so lucky. Luck, however, is not what is keeping Computers and Such in booming business. What is keeping this diamond of a store functioning is the expertise of owners, husband and wife team, Hector and Gladys Andrade. Prior to the Andrade's opening up their super one-stop shop in Forest Crossing Plaza people were forced to get their services in other Zip codes and across Myrtle Beach. With 30 years of expertise each in their respective fields, they have managed to open and maintain a fruitful business during these hard economic times. HECTOR ANDRADE:
Hector Andrade has over 30 years experience with computers and technology. Working for such companies as Digital Equipment Corporation, Compaq, HP, and most recently AMD, one of the leading manufacturers of CPUs and computer chips in the world, where he served as Senior System Engineer for the Boston Design Center. His years of experience and time-tested ability to work though and solve even the greatest problem earned him a place as a respected member of his senior team.
He has a passion for troubleshooting and repairing systems from large industrial systems down to the most personal of computers. This meshes with his drive to help bring the same excellence and experience that large corporations and businesses demand to home and local business users with the patience, quality, and home town feel they deserve.
GLADYS ANDRADE:
Gladys Andrade has over 30 years experience with Bookkeeping and Accounting. With a talent for bringing corporate skill and excellence down to the small business, Gladys excels at taking the most complex language and topics and making them a breeze to understand. Her experience with small business and molding Accounting Teams caught the eye of Microwave Radio Corporation, the premier market holder for Satellite Communications in the US and England. There she helped cultivate her skills in a corporate environment bringing the human element from the small business and infusing it into the corporate environment as part of a fast-paced team. After taking her leave from MRC for some time to help grow the accounting department of Bizfon, a small business in need of her talents, she returned to MRC as a testament of her loyalty to both her team and those who needed her skill.
This same history of loyalty, experience, quality, and excellence is what drives her to help her husband, Hector, bring his talents to the Carolina Forest Area.
